The HeartWay provides end-of-life services for individuals and families free of charge. Our primary motivation and greatest desire is to proactively help families conserve valuable resources, energy, and love. We do this by providing meaningful focus and insight during times that are difficult so that families may spend true quality time with their loved ones in transition, while honoring their life and death.
We receive revenue from our training, events, and workshops and our work is also generously supported by individual and corporate donations, grants, and volunteers. If you are so called, you can make a tax-deductible donation, you can do that here.
Our supportive services augment Hospice Care, and we work very closely with Hospice to coordinate the care of our clients, by providing enhanced services above and beyond Hospice to those families in need of end-of-life care. We are here to fill in as many gaps in the current system of care as we can and are committed to providing compassionate, affordable, and integrative end-of-life care at no charge. It is important to note that:
The HeartWay offers support during all phases of care in hopes of providing an accessible means for families to transcend fears, and inspire peace, love, and compassion.
It is never too early to reach out if you are in need of support, advice, resources, or services for:
We are honored to walk by your side and help or will gladly refer you to appropriate resources should your needs exceed our abilities.
An end-of-life practitioner (ELP) is a death doula, but a death doula may not be an end of life practitioner. The difference often lies within their educational backgrounds and scope of practice.
An end-of-life doula is a non-medical professional trained to provide non-medical comfort and support to the dying person and their loved ones in the final days, weeks, and months of life. Training programs for a death doula range from a weekend course to a several month online program.

We Stand by You — This healthcare crisis lays bare the urgent need for everyone in our society to have access to loving care, especially at the end of life. We are still providing in-person end of life services.
In addition to serving, you in your home (whenever possible), we can conduct video conferencing and tele-care consults with clients all over the world.
The safety and well-being of our community is our highest concern. The HeartWay has expanded services to include online event and educational programs to the extent possible.
The HeartWay is founded on Volunteerism. We’re always grateful for any voluntary support our community can offer. We have opportunities that involve working with our founder in special projects; facilitating or hosting a fundraiser; helping out at our events; accompanying a dog on its journey home as a flight buddy; or even assist in one of our grief workshops/events. There are so many ways you can show your support for The HeartWay and, by extension, providing care for those at the end of life and their loved ones.

We are located in California as a registered non-profit EIN- 47-4703348. We have offices in northern and southern California.
Even though our home is California, our services reaches beyond the borders of the United States. We provide client consultations, programs, workshops, and trainings that reach into over ten countries. You can find out more about our global outreach here on our programs page.
Setting up a regular gift to The HeartWay is one of the most meaningful ways you can help; your ongoing support helps us fund vital client care costs, including home visits, materials, supplies, collaboration of care, and community programs such as The Death Café, Healing grief thru HeArt, and training programs for those practitioners working in the frontline of end-of-life care.
